Observation

Espèce: Monticole de roche (Monticola saxatilis) info
Nombre:
Reproduction:
Remarques: Robert Thomson:  Bird perched very briefly near our campsite.  Quite unmistakable as a Rock Thrush,.  Overall patchy appearance with conspicuous white contour feather edges throughout the body that I saw.  Belly light rufous-brown interrupted by white contour feather edges.  Head grey, also appeared patchy.  Conclusion: male Common Rock Thrush in non-breeding plumage.   I don’t have a lot of experience with this species in particular, although I have seen it in Europe a few times, but I’m quite familiar with rock thrush of the same genus, and this was definitely a Rock thrush.  [WABDaB Admin: description is good, species found in Chad before, observation in the Ennedi not unexpected.]
