Observation

Species: Common Buttonquail (Turnix sylvaticus) info
Number: 1
Breeding:
Remarks: Single bird flushed just ahead of me in the Diffa area, flew only a short distance before it disappereared in the vegetation. The vegetation was short (15 cm) and slightly moist, temporarily, due to recent rainfalls. Upperparts generally brown contrasting with black flight feathers - not sandy coloured, white and black upperparts as in Quail-plover seen on the same day.
