Remarks: In block Harikanassou, 60 km SE of Niamey, along the road south from the N1 to Kollo: pipit, eye stripe, malar stripe, wing bar (shoulder with black [or very dark] spots, below that a tawny bar: black centres to buff wing coverts?), bill long, more or less upturned, warm buff below, primaries quite pale, landed in tree then flew off high. identified as Long-billed Pipit using Birds of Africa vol. IV
