Observation

Species: Red-chested Swallow (Hirundo lucida) info
Number: 11
Breeding:
Remarks: Bunch of 11 swallows that came and flew above the swimming pool of my house for minutes Much barn swallow - like some in breeding plumage it seemed : dark red throat, white underparts above shining black-blueish, long tail, but not as long as the barn swallow. There is the argument of the period and the number of birds that doesn’t match with the barn swallow. -The narrower red band on forehead was not really possible to assess, same for narrower dark chest-band. Criteria clearly seen: white underparts (not buff), underwing coverts dark (not buff), white tail spots very visible. Voice was also clearly different: short calls and voice exchanges between the birds not similar with what we are used to with barn swallow.
