Observation

Species: African Grey Hornbill (Lophoceros nasutus) info
Number:
Breeding:
Remarks: 1968-1989, all year: Everything points to there being a local sedentary, population nesting in June-July, independent of a migratory population that passes through in great numbers South-North at the b eginning of the rainy season with a massive return in October. When the seasonal rhythm is upset the two populations jostle for space locally. Local people are convinced that two species are concerned and ahve given them two different names in Gourmantch.
