Observation

Species: Rueppell's Warbler (Sylvia ruppeli) info
Number: 3-4
Breeding:
Remarks: 3-4 different Rueppell's Warblers (plenty of variation in quantity of black on throat plumage etc. ) hunting small insects in the canopy of a large Acacia raddiana type on most days throughout that period (20-29 Nov 2007). Not possible to be sure how much of a turnover there was, but I had the impression from throat marks that birds were coming and going. They were present usually with 1-2 Sardinians and a dozen or so Subalpine's every day through that period. The Rueppell's and Sardinians seemed to spend much time near the trunk and larger interior branches, the Subalpine's much more in the leafy outer canopy.
