Le Chevalier culblanc est plus compact que le Chevalier sylvain; a un cercle orbital plus clair; ne possède pas un sourcil entier; a des pates plus verdâtres et foncés; et a des dessus plus sombres. In non-breeding plumage. Compare with the photo of this species taken in March. Green Sandpiper is more compact than Wood Sandpiper; has a complete white eye-ring; does not have a complete eyebrow; has darker, more greenish legs; and has darker upperparts.
