On n'a pas entendu le cri de cet oiseau, alors son identification n'est pas 100% sûr. Le Petit-duc scops part pour l'Europe jusqu'à mi-avril, alors la plupart ou bien tous sont déjà parti du PN de Zakouma le 9 avril. En plus le Petit-duc scops a des marges de plumes normalement moins brun que celles du Petit-duc africain et de cet oiseau.
The call of this bird wasn't heard, so its identification is not 100% certain. Eurasian Scops Owls depart sub-Saharan Africa until mid-April, so most or all birds of that species will be gone from Zakouma NP by 9 April. Eurasian Scops Owls also generally have less rusty edges to their body feathers than African Scops Owl and than this bird.
